A hallucinatory thriller about finding your inner demon.

Social media influencer and A-list fashionista Nikki Delgado has been ordered to relax. She suddenly went ballistic during a podcast interview, and her manager thinks the pressure might be taking a toll. Nikki gets paid — and we do mean paid — to wear exquisite things and post about them. But lately, she’s begun to yearn for more. She’s not getting any younger, and her carefully crafted public persona is at odds with her shady family and rough upbringing.

Nikki arrives at Ichos with plenty of baggage (both literal and metaphorical). Ichos is an idyllic resort off the coast of South Carolina. It’s as expensive as it is remote, and its charismatic leaders — married couple Jonah and Phyllis Beveridge — practice an original form of sonic therapy that they promise will unlock the hidden potentials of their guests. All the guests have to do, they say, is surrender. But surrender to what?

Last Resort is a serialized audio drama with Nikki very much at the center of things. We’ll meet five other new arrivals to Ichos, each of whom have their reasons for visiting and each of whom will be tested in all sorts of macabre ways. Nikki will make alliances with some of them and enemies of others, only to have the rug pulled out from under her with alarming regularity. Questions of trust and loyalty become more complex as the season progresses.

When paradise becomes a living nightmare, the only way out is through.
